We at c3compassion are very excited to announce that we have chosen our 1st year El Salvador Scholarship winners. With six spots available, three for 2nd year and three for 1st year, it was hard to choose. Below, you will get to know more about the students who were chosen for 1st year based on translations from their videos! Thank you for all your donations, as always! Kevin Eduardo Monterrosa Rivera

Good afternoon, my name is Kevin Eduardo Monterrosa Rivera.

 I’m 18 years old.

 And the career I want to study at ITCA FEPADE is Gastronomy.

My family group is conformed of 5 people whose are my grandmother and she is housewife, my aunt who is an operator in a factory, my cousin who is currently unemployed, my cousin who is a fourth grade student and 10 years old, and me that I’m a student at ITCA FEPADE applying to one Scholarship.

My socioeconomic conditions are currently low, only my aunt works to support the family and pay for electricity and water services, our income is on average $250 per month, and for my studies I only have the support of my uncle, who is helping me financially.

I considered myself a very responsible, competent, cheerful person and every day I try to be a better person and when I want something I do my best to get it.

Loyda Eunice Guirola Alarcón

My name is: Loyda Eunice Guirola Alarcón, I am 18 years old. The career that I will start at ITCA is called: Architecture Technician.

I live with my mother and five brothers, my 45-year-old mother is named Noemy, she is dedicated to a mini business that we have at home selling stationery items and clothes, my brother who is he oldest, he’s 20 years old his name is Osmar, he dedicates to technician studies, Arturo my brother who is 16 years old is studying second year of high school, Josué who is 13 years old is in seventh grade, my 10 year old sister is studying fourth grade and her name is Dheymy, and my younger brother is called Darío and he has started kindergarten at 4 years old.

My family is large and low-income, the monthly income is $200.00 dollars, I am a girl with skills and defects that makes me unique and better person, I have fair skin, brown eyes, and dark brown hair, I characterize myself as a humble and hard-working young woman who achieves what she sets out to do, I like to draw and I like to help others in whatever way I can.

Julia Damaris Ruiz Chulo

Hello, my name is Julia Damaris Ruiz Chulo, I am 19 years old and the career I will start at ITCA is Computer Network Infrastructure Engineering Technician.
I currently live with my two parents, both of whom are 61 years old. My father works as a security guard in a private residential and my mother is a housewife.
Financially I depend on my father since he is the only one who has a stable job; However, with my mother on weekends in our house we cook and sell pupusas to get an extra income and thus be able to pay for the water and electricity services, due with what my father earns he buys food. In order to obtain the ITCA school enrollment, my parents had to save money for a long time; however, I also contributed since I had the opportunity to work for 2 months taking care of some children in the same residential where my father works.
I am a teenager with many goals to meet, thanks to my discipline I have always excelled in my studies. I am very sociable, outgoing, empathetic, creative and above all I have self-control, and so many other virtues.
